Last night was the closing ceremonies for both the Olympics and the Ravelympics. This is the first time that I have not watched one single minute of a winter olympic games – ever. Just didn’t want to! so there… However, I did finish the Diamond Lace Scarf for Roxy last night. I’m really liking the way it turned out too. It does need to be blocked; I’ve got to figure out how to do that where Zeus (cat) won’t mess with it. He’s good about not playing with yarn as I’m knitting but I fear yarn pinned down would be a bit much for him.
Here he is stretched out napping (rather odd position) with the scarf next to him. It’s not blocked yet so looks far more narrow than it is and the lace pattern doesn’t show very well. the close up shows the colorway better but still doesn’t really give the stitch definition. My camera’s batteries seem to have died so these were taken with my phone – not great but hey… the point is… I met the deadline!!!!!
Now I’ll be casting on Snowden Becker’s Beverly later on today. I’m extremely excited about this project! Keep your eyes open at http://KnitPicks.com; they should have it up shortly as part of their Independent Designer patterns.
In other news… the job search is going nowhere right now. I’m still applying, making calls, etc. etc. etc. It will pick up, just have to wait it out and keep moving along and every other cliche one can think of.
For whatever reason, the kids’ dad decided to only cover dental and eye insurance on them so now none of us have medical. Greeeaaaattt. I’ve got an appointment for myself tomorrow – can’t take the cough thing anymore, it’s only been 4.5 months now oops! and now the left ear hurts like a muthaf***** along with general sinus pain making wearing glasses a less than joyful thing plus need to have maintenance meds re-done as low-cost generics blah blah blah. And, both kids need to see the doctor as well so… this week’s check will be going to TriCity Medical.
