Christmas was lovely, Mom enjoyed her Pashmina Shawl, Dad likes his warm wool hat, the kids got $ and/or jewelry… well, David got a pair of boxers (family joke) along with his cash. Why did my children get cash?! Not something personal and loving from their mother?! Because that’s what they wanted and they have a way of combining their holiday haul into something they *really* want.
Yep, Dad’s hat was finished on time and a second one is finished and waiting for his 82nd birthday on Jan 2. I managed to misplace Pepper’s stocking (Mom’s poodle) but found it after we returned home. oops! At least I remembered his toys. Mom commented how happy that would make Heidi. The first Christmas without her, it was strange, less exuberant than usual but still happy and family filled. My daughter broke down once but overall handled things quite well.
Christmas night we saw Sherlock Holmes – LOVE it! I thought it was quite well done, very different and a lot of fun. Great company, fun movie and the cast isn’t exactly hard on the eyes ; )
Marci wants a cowl like mine so… as her bday is Thursday she won’t be getting it as a birthday present but will have it soon. It’s heart warming to know that she actually likes things that I knit now. She asked for the yarn to knit a pair of her own socks, and that was duly gifted for Christmas but since she doesn’t knit just yet I’ll be making those. However, she does want me to teach her to crochet. This is great! She’s highly creative; I’m looking forward to the day when she wears her own designs whether sewn, knit, crocheted or woven.
Holiday pics to come.
