I had every intention of finishing His Navy sock 1 Monday evening but it didn’t quite happen. I’m knitting until this ball is all used. This ball has magical qualities. It won’t end. Never. It doesn’t want to. I knit and knit but it stays the same.
There truly isn’t that much more but it seems to be dragging on and on. Just to compare, here is a full ball
Notice this ball is a great deal smaller. In fact, it’s not even as big as it looks in the photos, I indented the middle so you can see that there’s not that much left. And yet, in spite of doing a good 1.5″ yesterday, it looks the same. *melodramatic sigh*
The next pair that I cast on is absolutely going to be two at a time now that I’ve got sock knitting on circulars down.
Later in the day……
I lost my social security card ages ago, it’s most likely in a box somewhere, so this afternoon I FINALLY went down to the local social security office to get another one. Figured there would be a pretty solid chunk of knitting time. There was about an hour of pleasant knitting/wait time – just a few yards left – then power in the whole downtown area went out. omg… really?!?
As they could only take the filled out application forms and couldn’t do anything else things went FAST. My number was 18 away when the electricity went out and I was called within 8 minutes after it did. So… will have a new card in a week or two and this freaking sock is going to get done NOW!
Side note:
Had a bit of a chuckle when one of the SSA workers asked her colleague if the copy machine wouldn’t work since the power was out. uhmmmmmm idk…. do you have a backup generator just for the copier?

It will happen, it WILL happen, it’s very nearly finished…. *hysterical laugh*
I hate projects like that – I hope that you finish it quickly!
Yeah, that’s right! The more you measure the more it seems to continuously be the same! lol! Been there and done that and will most certainly do it again!
