I’ve been making progress on the first pair of Socks 4 Soldiers – slow slow slow progress. The first sock for TJ’s daughter is nearly finished, hope to get it done tonight and cast on second one by Saturday. My dear uncle passed away this week and have the funeral in the morning then work. Oh yeah, I got a job. go me! I’ve also come across a fantastic person who seems to keep me far more focused than I’ve been for a very long time.
Magic Loop, Kitchener, and silence
Thought for today:
God grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway, the good fortune to run into the ones I do, and the eyesight to tell the difference.
Everyone (and by everyone I mean those who I talk knitting with) knows about my numerous attempts at mastering the Magic Loop. I STILL don’t have it down but…. am working on it! again. I’ve even put a link to Knit Witch’s You Tube video here, there are several other good ones on You Tube but that one seems to make the most sense to me. Here you go if you don’t feel like clicking the link.
Kitchener Stitch
The one thing about knitting socks that makes me absolutely insane is finishing them. Not the knitting part – love that! It’s grafting the toes (why do you THINK I learned to knit toe up!) I’m going to be finishing TJ’s today so thought I’d put the link for a great kitchener stitch vid here too.
It’s very quiet around here lately….settling into a pattern of silence it seems.
Getting there… and so far away
TJ’s first sock is nearly finished now, then going to start on her 3 year olds socks since she asks nearly every day if they’re done yet
The former DH’s current pair of socks has the foot worked up to the gusset, told him he’d get two pairs of socks out of this. Just didn’t say when!
The current socks for soldiers is going sooooooooooooo slowly! But am plodding along one k2p2 row at a time.
It looks as though could have to move out this weekend without much notice so keeping this brief. Move where? you say? uhmmmmmm idk, very good question though, thanks for asking
I filed a petition with the courts to mandate counseling and/or mediation. Regardless of what does/doesn’t happen between us, he needs help.
————– Update on the dangers of knitting—————————
Recently I’ve noticed a series of small bruises on my upper right arm. It took me over two weeks to figure out how on earth they happen! Then it hit me, I tend to lean a bit towards the light when I knit… can you say UNDERWIRE?! *laughing hard at myself*
